Internet has opened a new world which offers information of any kind with the click of a button on your computer. It’s harder to believe that people live without internet many years ago. Internet technology has propelled our world into the age of instant knowledge. I believe I depend on the internet for everything which makes me creative in all spheres of life. Being cheap, swift and easily available it’s a great way to link people from all over the world. The world has become smaller place with people from distant places can communicate with email, social networking, video conferencing, chatting and even attending job interviews.

Internet is definitely a boon when utilized in a proper way. Firstly, the internet has played a very significant role by providing endless information and knowledge about any topic using search engines like Google Chrome, YouTube, and many more. Students are very much benefited as the internet gives them a broader understanding and knowledge about their subjects which helps them to manifest and excel in their academics. Secondly, the internet has also helped in terms of safety purposes using the GPS technology and tracking locations. Thirdly, the internet is also used to run businesses through advertisements and also online businesses by selling products and services online. It has benefited and provided employment and income for people staying at home or people from far and remote areas. Most importantly internet helps us save time through online banking, paying our bills online instead of waiting in long queues, using emails, chats, and video calls to communicate with anyone in the world unlike in the past where it takes ages for people to send and receive letters. It has also given us endless entertainments such as watching videos, movies, listening to music and even play games online. The internet also allows online shopping which has become very popular these days. Internet has helped us be more independent and we are able to book our travel tickets and hotels on our own which saves money instead of hiring an agent to do our work.

The world of education also experienced an immense change. As a student I cannot count the amount of times I go on popular search engine Google to search things, especially relating to my academic work. I prefer to sit and research everything online than to walk into library to spend time search books. The university and library are providing eBooks and virtual learning website, course details, modules, weekly lecture slides and discussion forum to make learning easy for students. As an avid traveler I use internet as a perfect vehicle to plan my trips and it is easy way to book my trip.

Especially hospital and health industry it made a crucial change there is no long wait to consult a doctor, physician’s appointment will be automatically notified, patients with ongoing health issue such as sugar levels and blood pressure monitored remotely also hospital industry can improve quality, security in patient care. In transportation sector Internet has made a fundamental change to way we drive, autonomous cars make driving safer and less stressful, no further use of printed maps navigation apps navigate us to anywhere in the earth. Internet plays a prime role cyber world in crime and terrorism by enabling encryption technology we can communicate without being detected.

About 4 million people are using internet that is half of the world’s population are rely on this technology. It is a manifestation of never-ending creativity and innovation allows people to improve quality of their life. Internet has changed life from slow moving tracks to faster communication and quick results. Internet is making changes in society economically and politically which can be a fertile territory for the formation of new relationships. Dependency of internet on people are not passively affected by technology but actively shapes its use and influence (Fischer 1992, Hughes & Hans 2001).
